The broad aim of the
Friends of Cooloola Shire Libraries is to give practical help in maintaining and extending
library services.
The main areas of activity of our organisation are:
- A housebound service involving over 35 volunteers who
select and deliver books to borrowers in their own homes and all aged care facilities in
Gympie and Tin Can Bay.
- Music collection ; Volunteers collect, process, catalog
and give access to a large range of donated sheet music.
- Local History; Volunteers give practical assistance in the
Local history section of the Gympie Library.
- Children's Activities; Volunteers assist with storytelling
and craft.
- Adaptive Technology; Computer Technology to assist library
patrons who are unable to use ordinary library computers.
We have a general meeting every 3 months.
The membership fee is at present $3 ( this is for insurance cover )
